Herb Cheese Toasts

Original Recipe - “Mary Berry - At Home”

The toasts can be prepared before baking, arranged on the baking trays, covered in clingfilm and kept in the fridge for up to 2 days

Ingredients

  • 1 long thin baguette
  • Softened butter, for spreading
  • 125g tub full fat cream cheese with herbs and garlic
  • Approx 175g cheddar, grated
  • A little mild paprika

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 220°C/200°C fan/Gas 7. Lightly grease two baking trays.

  2. Take a sharp bread knife and cut the baguette diagonally into 1cm thick slices. Thinly butter both sides of each slice, then spread the cream cheese on one side. Top each with a little grated cheese and a dusting of paprika.

  3. Arrange on the prepared baking trays and bake for 8-10 minutes or until melted and golden brown.
